St. Louis Union Station Engagement photos —I had the pleasure of meeting Paige and Ryan and capturing their love and story in St. Louis. We choose the historic St. Louis Union Station as the backdrop for their shoot and then we moved to the Angad Arts Hotel for the second portion of the photoshoot.
Update: Paige and Ryan have been featured on How They Asked by the Knot.
Q: Let’s start at the beginning. How did you two first meet?
Q: What makes your relationship special? Tell us some things that you both value in your time together. (example: pushing each other to new limits, love to travel, huge comic book fans, foodies, etc.) What makes your relationship unique?
Q: How did you know your partner was the one? When did you first know this in your relationship? (these may often be the same moment, but aren’t always)
Q: Give us all the details about the proposal. How and where did it happen? Was it a surprise? What was the planning process?
Q: We’re all about the bling… Tell us all about that ring!
Q: Are you excited to start planning your wedding day? Do you have any ideas in mind yet?

The Sagamore Pendry Hotel is 128-room luxury hotel located in the historic waterfront community of Fell’s Point overlooking the Inner Harbor. Ashlee and Ryan were excited when I suggested having their engagement session here as they are getting married in Baltimore.
The red carpet stairs made for a romantic backdrop for Ashlee and Ryan as they were getting more comfortable with the shoot. The shoot took place in July of 2018 on one of the hottest days of the summer so we made it work and that’s one of the reasons why I chose the Sagamore Pendry Hotel in Baltimore.
Ashlee is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated and since she was wearing a fabulous dress, I asked her to strike that AKA pose.
Sagamore Pendry Baltimore is the reinvention of one of the region’s most storied properties, perched on Recreation Pier in the center of the vibrant waterfront Fell’s Point neighborhood. The hotel was carefully renovated and reimagined by Patrick Sutton Design with a creative vision rooted in its historic significance and signature Charm City allure. The final product is designed for visitors and locals alike, with the amenities, offerings and exclusive programming today’s traveler is seeking, accompanied by the city’s most inspired new dining, beverage and retail concepts. Baltimore, reimagined. Welcome to Sagamore Pendry Baltimore. Via Sagamore Pendry
We ended Ashlee and Ryan’s shoot Fells Point Creamery This is a really good ice cream shop across from the Sagamore Pendry Hotel. They are a really fun couple and I look forward to capturing their Baltimore wedding.
The National Gallery of Art is a national art museum in Washington, D.C. located in National Mall. I had the opportunity to photograph an engagement and maternity shoot at the same time. Monique and Shea were ready for the challenge and so was I! We started early in the morning and finished right before the museum was busy and I felt good about the shoot.
The Jefferson Memorial was the perfect engagement location for Krystal and Carlo. We had such an amazing time while there. We started the engagement shoot off at City Center, in Washington, D.C. a popular place in the city to take photos. By the time we moved to the Jefferson Memorial we were in full swing! Designed by John Russell Pope in 1925, the Jefferson Memorial is an imposing sandstone monument. The architectural style makes for a timeless and classic backdrop for an engagement shoot.
For the Washington DC part of the shoot, the couple wore red and black contrasting outfits, with Krystal in red heels and Carlo is a red top. I love shooting in the streets of Washington! The city provides a great backdrop for couple portraits.
I love the color pop of Krystal’s bright yellow dress against the sandstone of the Jefferson Memorial. It always makes for a lovely shoot when couples decide to dress up and go out for an engagement shoot at one of our National Monuments.
New York City’s Time Square was the perfect backdrop for Francine and Rodney’s Engagement Shoot. Rodney explains why it’s such a special place for him and his bride to be Francine.
