It’s always amazing to be present for photos that capture memories of the circle life. I met Sylvette back in 2002 at church and we have been good friends ever since. I then met her then boyfriend/finance-now husband Jerry a few years later. Back then I never realized I would capture the special moments of their lives, but it happened, and it happened again, and again.
During this shoot the family wanted to announce the birth of their boy or girl to friends and families. We decided that J.R., the two-year-old big brother would be the star of the photoshoot. So where do we go first for ideas? Pinterest, of course.
As Austin Kleon writes in his book, Steal like an Artist says,
“Start copying what you love. Copy copy copy copy. At the end of the copy you will find your self.”
I can’t say these photos are original, but like everything I do, I draw inspiration from many places. A big congratulations to the Howard family, and I look forward to July when I will take photos of the latest addition to the family. Also, a big shout out to Jade Davis who assisted me in the shoot and is learning the art and craft of photography.
