Audio is so important for Wedding Video

I have an audio workflow that takes the pressure off DJ's and hotel sound people. I control the speeches with my studio quality microphone system.

For those technical people who want to know what system I use, you can click here.

Here is my process:

1. A Whirlwind Splitter to route the sound to my external audio recorder, while giving a balanced line out.

2. The DJ/Sound tech will be in control of the house audio and levels via his mixer.

3. I have a mic stand and lights positioned exactly where I need the speeches to take place for the best video and audio sound in the venue.

Here is a photo of the audio set up for receptions/ceremonies.

For Churches and Houses of Worship

  1. I mic the groom for the ceremony, but that feed goes to my audio recorder.
  2. I request an audio out either XLR or 1/4 inch so I may be able to capture clean audio.
  3. I must speak to the Media Ministry director to confirm that I am able to do this. (Me or my team will not adjust any settings on your audio board)
