The Carnegie Institution for Science is a beautiful historic landmark nestled between Dupont Circle and Logan Circle in the heart of Washington, D.C. Its neoclassical Sixteenth Street façade lends to the grandeur of one of the most prominent thoroughfares in the city. (Source-Wikipedia)
Danielle is a beautiful bride and she decided to have her wedding and reception at this lovely venue.
They decided to do a first look, there was no bridal party and it made it much easier to execute this intimate moment.
Mike and Danielle met in college at Arcadia University. Our paths crossed a few times over the years but we didn’t start dating until I was a senior and he was a junior. They have been together for 11 years.
As a bride, you’ve thought of every detail of the wedding down to the plates, cups, and chairs. Everything is arranged just so, the musicians have their queues, the flower girls have been trained to throw petals at the right consistency. Everything is going to be gorgeous. The food is going to be delicious, the lighting will be perfect, and your makeup and hair are going to be on point. But what about your wedding perfume?
After all, you are going to be getting very close to a lot of people on your big day. There are hugs and kisses from relatives and friends to give and receive, there’s a good deal of dancing to be done, there are pictures and, of course, snuggling up with your groom. You’ll want to choose a scent that you can remember for years and associate with your special day forever.
If you are just wearing the same thing you always do, you might be missing out on an opportunity to make your aroma profile say something about you and your wedding. It’s a special day, in a special dress and shoes — everything about the day is designed to give you a feeling of loveliness. Might you consider adopting a wedding scent that does the same thing?
FragranceX has created a flowchart that maps out some ways to consider elements of your wedding in terms of aroma. From the venue and time of year to your personality, to what signature cocktails you are planning to provide, the visual below has advice on specific wedding fragrances that will match the occasion.
For example, floral notes speak to traditional romance and classic wedding accouterments; whereas something more exotic might demonstrate a modern twist. A perfume that has more citrus is refreshing and energizing. Whatever the tone for your wedding, set the smell profile and make it a distinctive and special aroma that makes you feel as wonderful as you should when you are a bride.

The Sagamore Pendry Hotel is 128-room luxury hotel located in the historic waterfront community of Fell’s Point overlooking the Inner Harbor. Ashlee and Ryan were excited when I suggested having their engagement session here as they are getting married in Baltimore.
The red carpet stairs made for a romantic backdrop for Ashlee and Ryan as they were getting more comfortable with the shoot. The shoot took place in July of 2018 on one of the hottest days of the summer so we made it work and that’s one of the reasons why I chose the Sagamore Pendry Hotel in Baltimore.
Ashlee is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated and since she was wearing a fabulous dress, I asked her to strike that AKA pose.

We ended Ashlee and Ryan’s shoot Fells Point Creamery This is a really good ice cream shop across from the Sagamore Pendry Hotel. They are a really fun couple and I look forward to capturing their Baltimore wedding.
The National Gallery of Art is a national art museum in Washington, D.C. located in National Mall. I had the opportunity to photograph an engagement and maternity shoot at the same time. Monique and Shea were ready for the challenge and so was I! We started early in the morning and finished right before the museum was busy and I felt good about the shoot.
